I was sleeved Friday, March17th. The first week wasn't easy...first because of fever (101 for five days) and then because I had a horrible allergic reaction to the surgical tape or stitches. Wildly itchy hives.
Well, that's all behind me now and it's SO WORTH IT. Walking really helped bring the fever down, and this weekend my temp was finally normal. I've been able to sip sip sip and am getting about 50 gm of proteins, not too bad for the beginning.
Yesterday I worked a few hours and today I attended an important workshop with my board chair for six hours, highly interactive...and I was just fine. Rather than driving 3 hours back and forth to the meeting (well, this is Los Angeles, after all!) I splurged and took Uber. On the way home it was wild, the driver was someone I went to high school with and haven't seen since graduation in 1970.
I'm amazingly already down 9 lbs. and look forward with great anticipation to all that is to come. I'm glad I took a full five days from work. My work is all "head" work, nothing physical, but I was really tired that first week.
Now, full (well almost full) speed ahead!
