Since surgery, once I get cold, I can't seem to shake it. I was at a party yesterday and cold to the core. I couldn't shake it. Everyone else was comfortable. This seems to happen a lot since surgery. Anyone else?
No worries, it's normal. Took me 8/9 months to get to a "normal" temperature. But since before surgery I was always hot (and I live in a tropical climate for the past 2years and a half) it gave me some room to adapt. But when traveling to Arizona last year in March, everyone was warm, I had to get an electric blanket because I was freezing at night with two blankets/comforters..

I have had some days like you describe and I usually end up taking a hot shower to warm up.
Yup I am 5 and a half years out and I am still always cold most days I sit in a hot bath to warm up if i just can't get warm. Its like my bones are frozen at times. I used to be hot all the time before I lost the weight. I guess fat is really a great insulator lol
Yes. There is someone named Teri on the forum that posted about when I first joined. I was like Sandra pre surgery, in fact Id break out in sweats for hardly moving, now I have to carry scarfs and sweaters everywhere. Room temp can be at 74/78 and I'm still cold. I need a heating blanket!!!

"Today is another day to get it right!"
Yep. I'm 2 months out and my heating pad, electric blanket, and hot shower are my best friends.
Its unreal. Before surgery, I could wear a lite coat through all the winter and be just fine. This year, we have had a pretty mild winter and I have had a winter coat, hat and gloves most days. I have actually used the seat heaters in my car for the first time. I sleep with a shirt on and wear socks around the house. Kind of crazy that it changed that quick.
Wearing a hat, hoodie, jeans, and longjohns right now..... In the house! And the pellet stove is cranking in the room I am sitting in..... Yes, I am cold all the time. My wife makes fun of me now. I used to be a furnace, always warm, no coat in winter, etc.... I hear it can last awhile as well. People 3, 4 years out still get cold. Of all the changes for me this was the most shocking! I have never been cold in all my life (I climbed in Alaska when I was younger and in good shape!).
Is it wrong that I'm actually looking forward to this? I knew it would happen because my mom (who had full bypass) was always warm before is constantly freezing now (she's about five years out and down 200+ lbs). She'll be in multiple layers under blankets and I'm sitting next to her in a tank top and shorts. Good to know it's not just a select few but seems to be the majority.
Melinda, No its not wrong but it is very different.
This may sound strange, but during these last 2 1/2 months PRE OP dieting, and all the water I have had to consume daily and the subsequent bathroom trips, I am freezing! I have to wear a hoodie in the house now which is insane for me. I'm usually hotter than blazes. We'll see what happens after surgery next week. OMG, next week! It's almost here!

Fat was insulation!
Yes, it certainly insulates! I'll be happy to lose that insulation.
