Dr. ILLAN Anyone?

I had my hear set on Dr. Corvala who is an excellent surgeon. However, my only concern is that the process does not seem to be very hands on. I don't even think I am supposed to be able to talk to him until the day of surgery. Anyways not too much information has been provided for me regarding the process and I am the type of person that would need a lot of support through this process. I just need to know from other people that Dr. Illan is just as qualified because all the pre op, during and after care seems like just what I need. I have just not been able to find as much information regarding his credentials. Also, why are some bariatric surgeons more expensive than others. How many surgeries does he perorm in a day? Are the rooms private?

I'm very close to choosing him myself, but doesn't seem like there is any feedback about him on this particular site.

Have you been to *****************? I don't know if I am going to be in trouble with this site by mentioning it. There is a lot of support for him on there. He spoke to me on the phone for 40 minutes and I know that you can also skype with him. Very nice man and answered all of my questions. I have bit my tongue for awhile but the reason people don't mention him is because they probably don't mention him on this site they are too busy highlighting Dr. Almanza and only Dr. Almanza. I am frankly shocked with all of the horrible publicity he has gotten. I do not understand why this site endorses him and I know I may be banned for expressing my feelings and possibly upset his supporters. I am sorry doing over 15,000 surgeries does not make you better necessarily. and doing 5-12 a day is not right. I will be having my own private room with Dr. Illan and he only does 3 surgeries a day instead of having to share my room with 3 strangers. Not worth the 200 dollar discount. Hopefully i wont be kicked off the board for this but I still havy my other support group I guess.

Yes. That is correct. I completely get it and now I am considering the mini bypass my surgery is June 14th! You think I would have this together by now!!
