Default Newbie (of course) pre opt

    Hi everyone!
I just found this site. I'm due to have the sleeve in about two weeks. I'm at the heaviest I've ever been. I'm shamed to say that I've reached just over 300 pounds! I've never been even close to that....well in the 270's.

Has anyone here had it while being over 300? I'm confident that I will loose a lot and keep it off but I could use the encouragement. I'm 3000 miles away from all of my family and friends. So I'm pretty much alone going through this. Could use all the support and advice given. Thanks in advance!!

At my heaviest I was 330 pounds, for my first appointment with the surgeon 313 and the day of surgery 295 pounds. I'm 9 months our and around 222 pounds. I think the most important is not how big you are when you start the process, but staying focused on your goal what's important to reach it: drink enough water, have your protein, take you vitamins...following your guidelines is the best key to success!
I feel so much better in only 9 months, sometimes it feels like a true miracle! of course everything is not perfect, I still have a few health issues but all is getting better. Good luck and take care!

    Hello,

Your not alone! If I could give you a big hug I would! My best friends daughter was 320 and two years later after being sleeved she is 190...she follows her diet but I must tell you seven months after being sleeved she found out she was pregnant and with twins!! So I hope that gives you great hope!! I have surgery in one week and I'm flying to Mexico alone...I'm a little scared but I'm so excited and I know we both will be fine!! ❤️

I had the sleeve in August at 319 with a high weight of 341 in June of this year. I am now at 269 and could not be happier. Follow the doctors plan and walk and exercise and you will do great.

Don't think of your family being away as a hindrance, think of it as a help in that you only have to change the habits of one person. I have had to battle temptation in my house because no one else thinks they need to watch what they eat. My wife the other night made brownies, the smell was very enticing but I resisted. Find a good support group near you and make some friends who have been through the same things.

At my heaviest I was 334 pounds. I was 318 pounds when I started this whole process and 301 pounds the day of surgery. I'm almost 11 months out and a few days ago weighed in at 185. My surgeon's office's goal for me is 178 (I'm hoping to get to 160) so I think I'm doing pretty well. In fact, as of this time last year I was a 4X & size 28 pants (and stretching them out, to be honest) and today I am wearing a medium size shirt and a size 10 pair of skinny jeans.

As time has gone on, I have become more confident in my abilities and have become more independent. You will do great; just follow the instructions and doctor's advice and take care of yourself.

Thank you everyone!! I'm just a few days away. I've never been in the hospital more than over night. Especially without my mom and fam. But I think I'll do fine. How long did most of you guys have to stay in the hospital and how long before you started loosing weight and seeing difference. I know it varies for everyone.

I started this process at 279. Was 268 at surgery & after 3-4 weeks have weighed in @ 235!!! I got the surgery BEFORE I hit 300 because I knew it was coming and I was so withdrawn because of my weight. I am still very early in this process and need to buy some scales ASAP.

Just follow what doctor says & watch the weight come off after your surgery. Best of luck..........

I got on the scales today and have lost more weight!! I think getting the exercise bike is really helping as I am down to 230 pounds. I have been at 230 in a decade!!! Keep the faith everyone and follow the guidelines and you WILL lose that weight!!

I am embarrassed that I have hit 409 pounds at my last doctor appt. It makes me sick that I have let myself get to this point. my pre-op diet is for 30 days, due to my high BMI and weight. It's really depressing, so please don't let yourself get too down. I had always been around 380 at my heaviest, so to hit 409 has triggered something in me. I'm determined to make this surgery work. I know it wont be easy, but I deserve it, and I'm going to do this if it kills me. **lack of caffeine will probably kill me** haha!
