I am scheduled to have surgery on a Tuesday. Do you think it will be ok for me to book my return flight for that Thursday. I really need to be back on a Friday.

Check with your Dr. mine is allowing me to fly in for surgery Friday and leave Monday.

Yup. All depends on your doctor. Even whether you say overnight or not varies by doctor. My cousin didn't even stay overnight, which I found odd. My sister stayed 3 nights and I only had to stay one. I think physically you'd be fine but you're going to have to ask.
