Day 3 of post opp

It has been 3 days since I had my surgery. Today has brought some pain, but then again look what was done. I am having a hard time drinking enough water. It is a little painful going down. I know that will take time. Any suggestions! Cindy

Tiny sips frequently. Try different water temps to see what goes down easiest.

I enjoyed some sugar free popsicles. My throat was sore from the intubation. It'll come with time. Each day will get easier. Try tea. Try broth. You won't be able to do anything but sip. Set a timer to sip smaller but more frequently. Sip slowly. Try to move around. When I payed in bed it made me just want to sleep. I think I took my pain meds about 3-5 times that first week and that was it.

I swap between water, hot tea, fruit juice (water downed for me) and broth throughout the day. I am only on day three and I still need to sip the water slowly and I keep track of where I am at during the day so I drink enough.
