    Default Bummed

So I have fell off my diet and have gained about 5 pounds back. I'm trying hard not to let it get any worse but the taste of REAL food (&a white chocolate kitkats) has been an issue for me. Any words of advice to get me back on track would definitely be helpful & appreciated.

You've done really great. Throw out the temptations in the trash.
Start fresh tomorrow and don't look back, this is just a bump in the road , not the end of the road.

Start again now. Go back to basics - protein, limited carbs, water , vits , exercise.

White chocolate no way tastes as good as being slim !

You can do this ! X

According to your stats you are 50 lbs or so down. A few kit kats will only cause you to derail if you let it. Throw them away and get back in n track with just your protein and veggies I would say no or very low carbs until you get back on track. Your goal weight is totally within reach.

Keep the crap out of your house. That's the only way I can do it. If I buy it, I'll eat it.

    Hey Brandi,
You had surgery one week after me.
I had some sugar craving a few weeks ago. It was crazy, I never had that before. Somewhere I thought that something was wrong so I took a double dose of iron (I'm chronically deficient) for at least ten days and the following blood test did show that I was borderline. My surgeon, because I did ask him about that episode, was telling me "it's normal, your body is trying to regain the weight....plus your anemia probably got worth...".
He did agree that it was better to have some sweets to avoid frustration, but setting a limit was crucial.
That's what I did at that time: I had to go buy my two bars of evil (nothing at home), did track it (I usually don't track because I eat almost the same amount) and I did not have the temptation to eat a closet full of junk food because there's no junk food at home. And I did have protein with it..

I think the key, like the others said, is to not have bad stuff at home. Real food is fruit, veggies, nuts, proteins.
The rest is garbage. Empty calories, no nutritional value..
Having something sweet once in a while is ok and you should not feel guilty about it. But stock up on junk food and eat the whole bag is not ok.

I still have around 40 pounds to lose. The more we get close from our goal, the more difficult it is to lose weight. But don't worry about time line, we still have at least nine month with a good restriction (that's what my doc said) and we are only half way in our weight loss journey....but the rest of our life will be maintenance, so it's better to clear up closets and head right now and stay focused on why we had that surgery in the first place.
I know my health was on the decline before the sleeve. I did take the risk of having surgery to save my life.
I can see everyday how great I feel and how amazing it is to feel "normal", walk long distances, be able to spend a full day out and be active without excruciating pain...
So look how far you've gone! you did great! I think you should try to stay positive, don't worry about those 5 pounds, it's nothing.
Clean up your pantry/house of junk food. Have a blood test to make sure you are not vitamin deficient, it could be a trigger.
Take care and keep us posted!

Hi there! Let me assure you that this will be something you will have to deal with the rest of your life. I am working on re-losing the last 4-5 lbs I out back on. Just eating a lot of crap, not moving as much because I am doing a lot of school work, and stress over everything. The stress is not going to change. Im still not great at dealing with it even after all these years. I had a really bad week eating, and today am starting new again. I know what to do, and it is what it is. I have to be on top of this 24/7. You just do... I wish you all the best!

Yeah...don't do that! lol! It accomplishes nothing-trust me. Feel free to message me any time! I haven't been on as much lately, because I was doing great, but the last few weeks have been challenging. This is the best therapy for me-trying to pay it forward and "talking" to myself through helping others.

WE all have to face our personal devils as we go through this process. Right now I am in the "honeymoon" phas; only 1 month after surgery. I can resist anything. I also know that further down the road, I am going to be faced with sitting next to a bowl of chips with pico de gallo , or at my daughter's with her husband's fabulous olive tapenade. My weakness is more savory than sweet. I can pass up any kit kat for a warm soft pretzel with beer cheese any day.

Hopefully, I will be honest with myself and if I over indulge, get back on track and move past it. I find that tracking my food makes me more aware of what I eat. I do not lie to myself or skip the indulgences. I can see the breakdown of carbs, fats, proteins... and it helps me make better decisions.

5 lbs would be enough to send red flags to me that I am off course. While it is not enough to be labeled as an EPIC FAIL, it is a warning. To give yourself credit, You have already identified one obstacle. The kit-kat, LOL. One way to manage manage obstacles is to factor them in. Is one full size kit kat every once in a while going to offset weeks of dedication following your plan? Not likely.... but be honest. Life without a few rewards is probably not going to instill following a plan. Be nice to yourself. Allow yourself to enjoy that occasional treat. Savor it. Be aware that you are indulging yourself, But do not let that little devil try to talk you into eating more than one. Be strong! You can do it!

You can do it! Just get the Kit Kats out of the house and don't buy them anymore. I was also sliding down the same slippery slope with Simply Cheetos. Yeah, I could eat a whole bag in one sitting. So this past weekend at the grocery store, I didn't even go down the chip aisle so as to avoid the temptation. I didn't buy them AND I live to tell about it. I am back on protein and veggies and all good things. I now know that I can't have just a serving size and if I can't limit it to that, then I will not buy them anymore so the temptation is not there. Good luck to you honey!

You are doing great!! Get the kit kats out of the house. I found some protien gummies that work great for replacing candy. Just get back on track and you will shake 5lbs in no time!
