I went to this center by myself, however Dr Hernandez was my surgeon. You won't be alone as there will be other patients there also. It is a nice facility and the hotel and staff there are great!

I am in the beginning stages of preparing but have chosen Dr. Mario Almanza and hope to be scheduling my sleeve for early December if all goes as planned. Currently waiting on my passport card to arrive.

Hi Gingersnap, thanks for responding , how are you doing so far in your journey? I fine that one day I am excited and the next trying to talk myself out of it.
I guess I am a little concerned about getting back home by myself, and making sure that I use the correct liq.and foods combination, we have been organic for 10 yrs and I have also had to be gluten and folic acid free for last couple yrs. I just overwhelmed myself,even in my sleep. Don't have support groups around where I live.

Well, I talked myself out of it for years and then woke up 54 years old, still overweight, taking meds for blood pressure, cholesterol and arthritis and still saying "someday" I'm gonna lose weight so I can.....I finally realized I was missing my life!
As far as how I am doing, I would say pretty good. I lose about 2 pounds a week, sometimes 3. It is difficult getting in the water and protein but I just eat/drink as much as I can. You should be okay as far as eating organic foods, just get organic meat. And gluten shouldn't be a problem since we don't eat much carbs at all. Maybe just make sure your shakes are gluten free. I haven't even looked for a support group where I live though I probably should. I just get on here when I have questions or concerns. Good luck in your journey, I think you will be happy with it as most everyone I have talked to is!

Welcome! Congrats on your surgery date! I'm going to have my surgery in January with Dr Hernandez at, I believe, the same clinic/hospital as you. From everything I have read and researched, you will do fine and be fine! Good luck, prayers for safe trip and speedy recovery!

My passport came back in 2.5 weeks without it being expedited. We send off for them on a Tuesday and we got them back on a Saturady, the following Tuesday would have been 3 weeks.You will have it soon! Congrats on you surgery, I'm right behind you with Dr Hernandez!
