Hello my name is JP. I'm 55 married, a grandfather to 4 a Dad to three and a brother to 4. My addictions are my guitars and my girlfriend (the wife approves) Molly who is my two year old miniature Australian Shepherd. She and I walk three miles a day and if too long goes by and I'm not moving she's fussing. The obesity came and then the diabetes. Two yrs ago this month. Hospitalized with BG 513 and a1c at 13.5 (the highest their meter would registered). My dad and his brothers all died from complications of diabetes. Decided to look at WLS to assist in remission of diabetes.
Ninety days ago Molly and i started walking. 450+ miles in 90 days. Have lost thirty and by Jan. Doc is taking me off all meds. Blood pressure and insulin. On Monday a1c was 5.1and BG was 76.
Was going to wait on surgery but local hospital is shutting down bariatric program so Oct 25th is last date for surgery. Hence my VSG is scheduled this Tuesday. Great surgeon, he did a fix of a fix of a hernia operation in June. Best surgeon to date. He's worth jumping and having this surgery earlier than I planned. Just finished my 6 months of requirements, whew!
Peace
JP
