Newbie to site and just got my surgery date!

Hello,
My name is Christi and I am from Tx. I am 53 yrs old and have been looking into having weight loss surgery for many many yrs but my insurance always had a clause in it to where they would not cover anything weight loss related. I am so nervous and excited too. I have my sleeve scheduled for 10-26-16 with Dr Hernandez. Was wondering how to find out if anyone else is having theirs on the same day with the same Dr? I'm new to this forum and site so trying to figure my way around here. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

I am 51 years old and just had my surgery with Dr. Hernandez on August 11th of this year. BEST DECISION I ever made!! The trip to Mexico was easy and the surgery was for the most easy for me. Some advice I will give you is to make sure to walk, walk, walk.....Most everyone has said they had gas pain and the only way i found to get rid of it was to walk. The stay at the hotel was great and the nurses are wonderful. Good luck!!

I am having my surgery the same day. I'm 61 years old and cancelled one surgery 3 years ago. I finally decided that the time is now. I just had my pre-op testing today, so I'm ready to go. I have been reading everything on the forum and along with the doctor and nurses' information, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Good luck to you!

HI Christi, I am 54 and had my surgery with Dr Hernandez 11 days ago and my experience was great. Be sure to follow your pre-op diet and walk walk walk like jrobinson says. Make sure you get an isle seat on the plane on your trip home so you can get up. I was squeezed in by the window and felt bad bothering people to get up so I only got up once. That trip home was probably the worst thing about my trip. Everything else was great! Good luck!

Hi Christi, My doc is Hernandez as well. Having mine in December I have read many posts etc. and have read all good things. I'm excited for you , as I can relate to what you are saying 100%

Hi Christi, My date is also for Oct 26th but having mine in Miami. Already had my pre-op tests done and just started the liquid diet today, Good luck I'm sure you'll do well
