Default What to expect 8 months out

    Hi family,

    I am almost 8 months out. Have lost 60 pounds. At 5"7 I look like I weigh 150. But I weigh 182.
I would like to loose 15 or more pounds. It seems the weight loss is extremely slowed
Down or I am in a major halt. How can I jump start and at what point does it stop or is not as efficient in the beginning.
I can eat most anything. I finally had a breakthrough with being constipated by eating prunes. I will have a bus quit for breakfast only
Half sometimes. Lunch varies from a taco or a scoop of chicken salad. Dinner is whatever we have from spaghetti to one slice of pizza.
Should I follow stricter with just protein to loose the last of it???

    Thanks for all advice!!!

I'm at seven months, just had a plateau, but since I have a lot more to lose, my surgeon said I will lose even after 12 months. But the closer to goal, the harder!
It seems to me that your diet has too much carbs and not enough protein or even veggies (for fiber). May be eating three meals and two snacks would help? You could also have protein shakes to make it easier to reach at least 60 g of protein/day.

At eight months you maybe ending your honeymoon period, from here on according to the readings I have come across any weightloss and maintenance will be all up to you.

There are several reset methods to get you back to losing, Ooohhh! I just read several comments from MBenson5 and she follows an Atkins method that I'm going to read up on. At three months my weightloss is slow, but I'm okay with that as a few others have said I really do hope it's true fatloss and that I'm not losing muscle weight. I have gone from size 18/20 to size 14 and I am happy to say that the shorts I'm wearing right now, the waist line is sitting on my pelvic bone area which just reminded me that I need to wear a belt or I may have a wardrobe malfunction :-P

    Best wishes!

Ps... If you find a reset method that works for you please do let us know. Hugs!

Yes it slowed down for me at about 8 months too. I am still losing weight at 13 months post op,it's just way slower. I will sit at a weight for a month then all of a sudden lose 5 more pounds in one week, sit another month or so and lose 5lbs again. This has happened the last 4 months or so. Some people call them stalls, I call it normal. I follow the tinman's wisdom of never overeating, and I dont diet or count calories. I do try to keep an estimated calorie in take by reading labels and I round up. I know what I shouldnt eat, but sometimes I do. Sometimes I feel guilty of eating junk, sometimes I dont. If it wasnt so HOT here in Vegas , I would be out riding my bike.

gailbe , you should make a ticker so we can all see your stats.

My weight loss slowed down at about the 8 - 9 month mark. I lost 4 pounds one month, 3.5 the next. I just kept going at it and had a 8 pound loss following the two small loses. What I figured is that even ounces matter and will add up to pounds and as long as the scales moved in the right direction I would be satisfied with the results. It's hard not to want all the weight come off at one but unfortunately it does not work like that. Don't give up, review your meals and make sure you haven't allowed any of the old food habits creep back into your diet. I know my limitations, pizza, chips, dips etc and if I eat one bite I want a second. Make a list of the foods you believe led to your weight gain and limit or remove them from your diet.
