Considering Gastric Sleeve

Hi everyone, my name is Karina and I'm new here. I have been overweight pretty much since I was a teenager I am now 37 years old and am about 80 lbs overweight. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I have tried every diet out there although I have lost weight I always end up gaining it back and it's been so frustrating. I have seriously been considering getting the Gastric Sleeve. I would need to get the surgery in Mexico because my doctor here in the U.S. pretty much would require my condition to get worse in order for insurance to cover it which is ridiculous to me. So my question is does anyone have any reccommendations as far as doctors in Tijuana? Also how much does it generally cost to get the surgery done in Mexico??

Welcome! I used Dr Ariel Ortiz at Obesity Control Center in Tijuana. He is a top bariatric surgeon. I have nothing but the highest praise for him and his entire team.

I, too, had my surgery with Dr. Ariel Ortiz in Tijuana, MX. It was a wonderful experience. The service we received the entire time we were in MX was amazing. I'd recommend anyone who is considering gastric sleeve to call the Obesity Control Center and get started on your new journey in life. By the way, blove2012 is my sister. We went together and we're both sleeved July 22nd. I wish you all the best.

Thank you for the responses ! Approximately what is the price for the whole procedure?? How about recovery is it painful??

You will have to contact them about cost. They offer a number of procedures and I would hate to give false info. I can tell you that he is not the cheapest. I don't recommend that anyone go to someone just because that Doctor is cheaper than another. I can tell you that my procedure was only about 25% what it would have been where I live. Please look up obesity control center and give them a call.
