    Default OMG Don't Forget...

Don't know if this has come up in any of your adventures, but I've had to spend an extra few minutes paying loving affection towards my wife who supports me unconditionally, but has left little hints (which after 14 years I think I've started to pick up on).

I don't think she's entirely worried about any one thing in particular, but she has mentioned a few times that she would be a little weirded out if I weigh less than her. (she's overweight too but if any of you tell her I said that, I'll find you and hurt you). She's head strong and has lost the weight before on her own so there's no way she gets the surgery... So maybe she gets inspired?

I think it bothers her on a self confidence level? Maybe because I told her I was gonna model one of her dresses? Yeah, probably not the right thing to say... freakin guys and our big stupid mouths.

So as much as it's a personal journey, Support your supporters!

Well, as someone who spent a long time weighing more than my ex, it is a blow to the pride. When I went lower than him, it was a huge victory for me. You sound like you are really sensitive to her needs, and that will go a long way!

My husband has always been smaller than me. Always loved me no matter my size. But it has bothered me. He is one of those people who eats 3eggs 8 pieces of toast and almost a whole pack of bacon for breakfast and his weight never changes and bloodwork is always perfect. But I can say he is the most supportive of me. Has always called me beautiful. Sounds like you are a lot like him. Keep telling her she's beautiful no matter what.

    You're a good man Kevin.

My husband asked me the other day if when I got skinny was I going to leave him. He was laughing when he said it but I think there was some truth to it as well. He's been so supportive in all this. I owe him a lot!

I now weigh more than my husband and he's 6 feet tall. It doesn't feel good but it's been this way for awhile. Thankfully he never makes me feel badly about it even though I was a total babe at 120 lbs when we married 13 years ago. Thank goodness for our wonderful spouses or significant others. We're blessed!

I have always, always weighed more than DH. And I probably always will (even after surgery), because he is very lean man, and I am big boned. Yeah, let's go with that. Just dote on her, tell her she is beautiful at any size and I think you will be fine!

My boyfriend has always tried to help me watch my weight. For the past year, when I have gained the most, I could hear the frustration in his voice when he saw me overeating. Now that I am scheduled for surgery, he has made multiple comments about how he will have to keep other men from steeling me away.
We broke for a month back in April and after only a week he was sleeping around and I not once even went out on a date because he had my heart. So if he is a little jealous.....it's good. It's time he realizes that he has a hot woman!!

Hey Kevin_Sly, I vote to see you in that dress!

Seriously, I agree with Melissa, it is tough when we as women weigh more than our hubbies. I can understand her concerns. However I hope with positive weight loss, you can turn her insecurity into motivation for her own health.

I'm a little younger I think than some here and still live with my parents. It's only been 3 days since my surgery but the support I've gotten from my parents is undeniable. My Dad was on board from day one and paid for my surgery which if he hadn't, I wouldn't be 3 days post-op right now. They are both so supportive in encouraging me, making sure they know all about the procedure and post-op diets so they can help me stay on track. I think it's something we don't talk about enough here but it has to be hard on them too and while this decision is all consuming we need to remember to thank them and appreciate them daily.

    Thanks for the reminder everyone!

I honestly think that my husband is truly afraid of this. I have told him over and over again he is stuck with me through think and the oncoming thin, for better for worse, all of it. I could be big as a barn or skinny as a rail and I could never, ever picture my life without him in it. I think he feels this way, because he married me when I was 365 and he has never seen me back at that weight again. It must scare him. But, in spite of this, I could not ask for better support through all this than what I have received from that man of mine.
