suggestions... before , during and after surgery....

hello everyone.. just wondering if anyone has suggestions regarding what to bring, or not to bring...for those of us waiting for our surgery date to arrive... such as... i know someone suggested bringing immodium...in addition to the gas -x, or blankets for the hotel( apparently it was cold)... and I like my own pillow.( how were the ones at the hotel?).....but i don't want to pack things I don't need...

Definately bring a bag on wheels. That way you don't have to lift things. Also FYI you can request a wheelchair at the airport for you trip home. I did and it was helpful. Gas X was my friend. There is a pharmacy down the road you can go to do get anything else you need but I brought gas x strips from the US. When I was done with my surgery my friend actually went to the pharmacy and got me some flavored Pedialyte to drink/sip on. I'm not a big water drinker. I would suggest a pillow also. Other than that we had plenty of blankets and the hotel had everything else we needed. Bring cash to tip folks. You can also request a refrigerator for your room.
