Rough Day with PreOp

Something I ate made me vomit and have diarrhea - I think the broth and banana combo.

I work on the phones and wondering if other people work all the way through PreOp.

I wanted 7up and Toast and I didn't but boy. I'm trying to get vacation time for the rest of PreOp.

I worked through 2 weeks of pre op diet. It was hard but I survived. Probably was easier at work were my mind was busy. 1 year out find I still find I do better at work than at home with all the food and kid lunch snacks in the cupboard and fridge. Hang in there it gets easier.

Yes, I worked all the way through my 16 day preop. Actually only got seven days off total, including surgery day itself. I work 10-12 hour shifts, and like Michael, I prefer being occupied rather than sitting at home with nothing better to do but graze and snack or think about grazing and snacking.

Did you talk to your surgeon about your vomiting and diarrhea? If not, you may try taking pepto to calm your tummy and/or Imodium for the diarrhea. Ginger tea can also be very soothing to your tummy.

I agree with everyone else. Im a stay at home mom and wish I were working on my 2 week preop. Ive got 2 days left and its been a chore to keep myself busy enough to not go off plan. On the upside Ive gotten in more exercise to get away from food and my house has never been cleaner.. lol

Day 9 it was so bad had to go to ER was given IV fluids and Zofran.
Did great after fluids. The whey protein or the milk or the sugar substitute was going right through my system. I don't know but glad to be back on track 5 more days!!
