Default 3 wk stall....how long does this last?!

I know it's been talked to death, but the search feature on this site sucks.

How long does this first stall last? It's already been 3 weeks for me. I would have thought I'd be back on the loser train by now.

Weight loss stops/slows while your body adjusts. Did you measure yourself instead?

i'm in a stall too Pam. 2 and a half weeks out. Seems my body is adjusting to these liquids. I'm walking everyday and I don't get it but it seems common. I'm going to wait it out and continue on. Have you budged yet?

I understand getting frustrated! I was there too. I had to go back and look to see how long my weight stall lasted. I had my surgery April 27, 2015 and I think I was around 213 ish. On May 7th, May 14 and May 21st weighed at 203. Let me tell you, I was getting pissed too! It was then I realized, I needed to take my measurements. I know it's a PITA; however, it really will open your eyes. Even when I weighed on May 26th, I was 201.5 and then each week after that, it was about a 2 pounds loss per week with a couple of weeks here and there of no weight loss. Just remember, slow and steady is what you want or you will have all kinds of loose skin. I look at where I'm at now and never thought this weight would be possible. I still can't believe it's me looking back in the mirror. I'm in a size 6-8 and once I have my tummy tuck and thigh lift in November; I should be a size 4. Just keep doing you and getting in your protein and water and you will start dropping.

Hi Pam, I have just come out of a long stall, I am just over 7 wks out of surgeryand didn't anything for just over 4 wks and I mean not on ounce, at one point I put in 5lbs, I am now losing again but at a much slower rate than before, I have lost loads anyway but there is a wedding in mid August and I very stupidly bought a dress before my surgery, if I could just lose another 14 lbs in the next 6 wks then I will be a very happy lady, it could be a long stall but it will start again I promise you

Are you gaining weight? If no, do what you are supposed to be doing and stop worrying about it.

Hydrating fluids 96 ounces each day! 1/3 should have electrolytes. No fluids for an hour after you eat. Do not drink while eating. 2 bites protein 1 bite veggies. (I do 3 bites protein no veggies).

Make sure you are taking your supplements. Make sure you have stuff going out the other end too!

Lastly, Are you gaining? (Get my point)

    How are you feeling today???

    Here are some ideas:

    - make sure you are sleeping 8-10 hours (stress can increase cortisone and cause weightloss stalls)
    - I've read that carbs are a huge culprit try to make sure your protein intake is higher than carbohydrates.
    - water if you are not drinking at least 64oz a day, try to increase as best as you can
    - too low calories may put you in hibernation mode
    - too high calories may put you in storage mode
    - track all your food - good or bad - you can revisit weekly and see where you have improved or need improvement in your nutrition
    - do weekly body measurements, the scale may not move but your tape may tell you otherwise
    - finally exercise. Any type of activity that gets your heart pumping for at least 35 minutes will increase chances of getting out of a stall.

Thanks Shirlypoo! I'm feeling 100% better.

I finally am getting all my liquids in, and focusing on protein. I haven't counted calories, but the nut papers say to strive for 1200 cals a day, which I'm sure I'm no where even close to. I'm not measuring, but my undies aren't getting any bigger, so I take that as a good indicator that I'm not getting smaller.

As for sleep....well, it's what I do best!
