    Default Beginning Pre-Op Diet!

Hi everyone, I just started my pre-op diet, one month of protein shakes and a protein in the evening, plus lots of water and vitamin supplements. I just wanted to check in for accountability. I'm at 303.8 lbs this morning, and I just finished my first protein shake and 16 oz of water. I'm starving, but I'm hanging in there!

    Starting Wt: 304.4 (size 22)
    Current Wt: 197.6 (size 14)
Ending Goal Wt: 140 lbs (size 6/8)
    Goal Wt B4 Surgery (7/4/16): 290 (REACHED 6/5/16 at 289)
    Checkin:
    7/4/16 (DoS): 279 lbs./Size 20

The pre opt diet is the most challenging because you haven't had the surgery and mentally you know you could eat something but you shouldn't. You can get through the pre opt period by just taking it one day at a time. I was too afraid to stray from the diet because I thought I might cause something to go wrong during the surgery. I also knew the diet was designed to shrink my liver and make the surgery easier for the doctor, which means it will also be easier for your body. Just hang in there and you'll soon be on the post opt diet.

Thanks mellowjoy! I'm looking forward to post op for sure! Today's been pretty stressful as a first day. We've had some house guests well overstay their welcome, and I had to ask them to leave "officially" today. Unfortunately, that was not very productive, so we may have to take some more steps to solve the issue. Overall, a very stressful start, but hopefully things will improve soon.

It will get better Krys. The first couple days are the most difficult on pre-op diet. You are beginning your journey and things will get better and better. WLS has made me feel and act so much younger. Looking good is a plus. Come here for support and you will do fine.

Just made my account to ask a few questions myself when I saw this. I just had my sleeve done four days ago, and I wanted to send my own support. It's rough, but it's worth it! You can do it, and I just want to say good luck, and you got this!

End of day 1, and I've lost 7 pounds! How does that even happen in one day?! I am seriously suffering from sugar and caffeine withdrawals and am feeling exhausted! Thanks for the support!

Is is better to go thru sugar and caffine withdrawal now than when you are trying to walk up and down the hospital hallway after your surgery.

    Good luck!
