How did you feel after your first drink?

So my friends and I are planning an overnight trip to the casino for my birthday. What was your experience with alcohol post surgery? Ibplan on sticking with white wine and having water in between and my max would be 2-3 glasses I guess depending on how I feel. Just curious what everyones experiences have been like how did you feel? My fear is I will feel sick and then put a damper on the night. Thank you!!

I was told no alcohol at all for one year due to cross addiction rates being so high as well as early on new tummy can't handle

I had surgery one week after you and I'm not planning on drinking soon, especially because it could trigger some side effect with the PPI I take (please check your medication to make sure it's ok with alcohol).
If I was not taking any medication and was going to drink I think I would stick to red wine, white wine is usually more acid and I didn't tolerate it well before surgery so it would be a no no after....take care.

Way way way too early! You aren't even close to being healed. Don't even drink one glass, let alone 2 or 3. Alcohol is hard on the tummy, and makes it more difficult for you to heal. Most of the surgeons say one year. Alcohol is not worth a leak. A leak can kill you. You can use this as a learning opportunity. We have to learn how to go out and not drink alcohol. Yes, sometimes I want it, but I have only taken a couple sips of my husbands drink. I am 8 months out.

Oh...my surgeon told me that they had a woman who drank one small glass of wine, and got a DUI. You have no idea how it will effect you all the way around.

I think it is a bad idea like people are saying it is way way way to early for you to even be thinking that you want to drink wine. Not only is it bad for you but it has a lot of sugar. Did you surgeon not tell you that you could not drink for at least a year? Do not to it girl think about you health,that is why you decided to get this surgeon done no for you health?

Oh wow ok let me check with my doctor because I heard otherwise and they had told me I was healed! By the time of our planned girls night I will be three months out. I agree I don't want any leaks or issues, I am not nor have I ever been on medication so Im ok there. Thanks for all the feedback!!

We are sleeping over so no isdue with that, and I never would do that anyway.

Even of cleared (doubt) note what someone else says...the blood brain barrier changes and you will feel the effects of alcohol much sooner as well as reach alcohol poisoning quickly.

I regularly have a glass of red wine. TBH it's the only carbs I have - everything else with carbs is eliminated. I've been fine, I cannot drink anything like I did though ! I'm in the UK - my surgeon isn't as restrictive as others. I like to nibble on a piece of cheese with my wine. I've lost 54 pounds since 1st Jan.
