Holy smokes! I have energy!!

Hey folks,
I have been struggling with low energy and fatigue when I am on my low carb cycle. Yesterday I went to Sam's and found Zipfizz. I bought grape, and it comes in tubes in powder form. You pour it into water bottles. It's a little sour, but I love it. I drank the WHOLE bottle over a few hours, and I never do that! Best of all, it kept me from wanting to snack while I was out running around. I am definitely going to drink it whil I am exercising. Just thought I would share this. I also bought some B complex to help with the energy. As always, check with your dr if you start anything new or have issues!

You go girl, but I thought we could not have caffeine? My surgery gastric sleeve is on Wednesday,and I am so tired. I have not had coffee in almost three weeks.

We were never forbidden from it, but every dr is different. I haven't had any issues with it.

How heavily is it carbonated? Bubbles can give me a bit acid. But this sounds amazing and like a good mid-day pick me up for me. I love the taste of sour things. I'm going to give it a try.

Once it's done fizzing, there is no carbonation. I avoid that totally, so I was wary too. There is also fruit punch.

BTW, I loved your post! I am glad you shared your story and updates, because I know how much the old-timers (lol) meant so much to me when we were starting out. Such an encouragement!!

glad to see you are still checking in; this site really helped me when I first got started and I got lots of good info from you and a gal named Kaci, I have not seen comments from her in awhile. I'm still good and now in Palm Springs. I'll be here until it feels like a furnace and I'll look for a cooler place to spend the hot months. take care michel

I really appreciate hearing that! That's why I do stay, hope to pay forward all I got when I was a newbie. Used to have a lot more time, but that's what happens when you get your life back. Still so grateful!

I've found in the past that if I drank energy drinks, that energetic feeling only lasted for about a month.

I don't think it's the caffeine that we can't have, but coffee. Coffee irritates the stomach, even if it's decaffeinated. Plus, since we can't really drink much afterwards, it needs to be focused on getting enough water, and if we stop coffee cold turkey right after surgery, we'll feel even worse!

At least that's what I'm thinking is the rationale for 'no coffee'. You could probably drink a pre-workout drink or some other caffeinated beverage if you wanted, but in the long run, it's best to be off of all 'addictive' drugs----caffeine included.
