StacyDev, the lady was "off". I don't take an extra small in anything. I'm 5'5" tall. I had a tummy tuck many years ago, so look great there. I have bird legs and look great in pants and skirts. My shoulders are narrow and boob area looks proportionate. So happy!

Not because you have to pay it forward or backward to justify your own benefits. She means that this is YOUR accomplishment, and accomplishing that for yourself is enough. You do not have to fix everybody. And you do not owe anyone for the benefits you have earned. They are YOURS!" Ann2

It takes time. And for me, repeated comments about how small I am help reinforce reality. I've recently joined a new singles riding group and intellectually I know I'm one of the smallest women in the group but years of social anxiety over my weight doesn't evaporate overnight. The more I'm around folks who didn't know me before, the easier it is. It's a mental battle for sure.

Don't worry about hurting my feelings because I guarantee you not one bit of my self esteem is tied up in your acceptance.

For me, I don't work at the same place, so usually I am the one who sees me as the fat person. The above comments are so true about body dysmorphia. But no, I haven't really had people treat me as the fat person anymore, even my in-laws are a lot nicer. It is sad to see the way people's opionion of you changes as your waist line decreases. Like my brain must have grown at the same time or something. Ugh...
