I am having such a hard time exercising consistently, not sure if its the cold weather here in CT that is making me feel blah or what but I just have no desire.....any advice?? How much is everyone working out?
Guilt, guilt, guilt.......blame it on winter. I live in northern ontario, we have lots of snow and it has been very cold, i am a couch potato right now, i forgive myself and i will pick up soon.
So let it go, do what you can, eat well, you are early days and doing great. Cheers
I have worked out nearly every day for 6 weeks. I usually only miss one day a week or once every two weeks. I have been very diligent because I don't want to have excess skin. I had my surgery eight weeks ago and have lost 40 pounds and have went from a size 22 to a size 14. I do at least a half an hour of cardio and include either abs buns or arms in the workout every other day. Today I am not feeling it but I did at work and will later do planks I'm not sure yet if I will do cardio or not. But at least tried to do something. It is definitely tough to motivate yourself but just think of the rewards afterwards spring is coming ladies. You've got this!
I dress warm and get outside. I love winter!
Have you tried 21 day fix or any other beach body programs? I just finished my second 21 day fix and it kept me focused and going.

"Hardest part of working out is putting your sneakers on an walking out your door."
*Warning long post coming*
(sry about writing a book)
-Google before an after photos. You can point out those who work out consistently.
For me that was a big motivator.
I'm 5 months out, and hit the gym 5-6 days a week now, cardio every day. In the being months it was more like 3days.
Cardio in the beginning is very tough I found. I could only do 10 min on elliptical, 5 min stair master and I struggled on treadmill also.
Now treadmill has interval program. I can walk say 1 minute jog 1 minute. ( I have asthma, wrecked knees need replacing,3 slipped disc, beginning of degenerative disc disease BTW)
I can now do 30 to 40 min interval program., (my weight dropped very fast doing that,((40lbs in less than 2 months)) and its very easy to do. i do elliptical 30 min now and omg stair master( I find this one the hardest) 25 min. I mix them up now to get 45-1hour. It breaks up the monotony.
...You can do any of them for 10 minutes, rest a little and then do another 10 until you get 30+ min. As long as your consistent you'll get results. Oh yea I use wireless headphones an listen to my workout music to drown out the tv people are watchin((TV,lol)) and the yapping. And I also close my eyes an focus on my music or whatever.
*And let me say that the hardest part in all this was/is my head, it starts at home telling me to rest today" "look at that comfy couch just sit down"
it tries to sabatoge me at every turn. When I hop on any of those cardio machines its a constant struggle. My head tries to get me to stop and rest, it tries to negotiate when I'll stop, it whines how tired I am, and much more.( *My mom once told me when I was little ' you gonna be your worst enemy' and she was soo right.*)
It likes the old me. The one that grazed all day, made poor choices, could polish off a large Buffalo chicken pizza, loved to sit on the couch an watch movies or be on the computer all day. The guy who wouldn't leave the house because he was so ashamed how Fluffy he became and refused to look at himself in a mirror. Still working on that one.
When it comes down to it only you can motivate yourself to step out your door. Look back on all you've done to get where you are.... Don't throw it away.
Join a gym. Bring a friend if you need a boot out the door. And get it done as early in the day as you can. as the day goes by it gets harder to motivate yourself I find
If I can do it with winning my families genetic lottery(disabilities I listed above)....you can...
Thats the hard part for me too!! Its awful bc iam so so tired after work!! I have to cook clean and bet next day ready all i want to do is cuddle with my hubbie for a cuple hours before 930 bedtimes!! The strugle is real real!' I was doing so good got sick and havent been back at it once!! Like you said skin is a big fear so its something that just has to be done
