I'm six days from my gastric sleeve. Had it done in Mexico with dr Almanzo. It was one of the easiest surgery. I was wondering if at week 2 I can start protein shakes. Or not?

I had to have a certain amount of protein shake down before they would release me from the hospital. As soon as i could keep ice chips and water down they started with the protein drink. So as far as my program went I would say your good to go. Didn't you get any kind of release instructions on when to start certain phases?

hello, and welcome to your new sleeved life,, im so exited for you,, for me i was able to drink the protein shakes,, it was my lifeline,,my new poch hated allot of protein shakes,, i couldnt wait to eat meat,, lol im 3 months post op and i still struggle eating meat,, some people here were able to eat food allot sooner than me,, our pouches are all different, i measure everything i eat or drink,, to ensure i dont over fill my pouch,, if you ever do that i promise you it wont be a pleasant feeling,, sip sip all that you consume,, at your stage i used 2 oz portion cups for everything,, hope this help,, tc and god bless

Yes start them. They had me on water and protein shakes the day after surgery. Good luck

I recommend the Premier Protein shakes, from my research a lot of sleevers can tolerate them very well. Week 2 sounds perfectly fine, but I think you could start them now, maybe thin them out a bit.
