Question about Cycles (Ladies)

Hello Ladies,

I had a quick question about menstrual cycles after the surgery. Does it stop? Does it become regular? Mine were irregular due to a hormonal imbalance - I figured that was due to excessive weight (that's what most doctors say). So now that the weight is coming off, will it regulate? That would be awesome in the long run for it to become regular. Just wanted to know if anyone else can shed some light on this. Thanks!!

You're young so I think my situation is different.
I was in menopause when I had the surgery in December. It def messed w my hormones. Spotted the whole time then had a d/c in July thought that helped. Now I'm back to spotting. I think the next step is to go on the pill.

I was 2 years into menopause and had a full blown period 3 days after surgery. They told me that could happen but since then I've had nothing. I hope the surgery/weight loss will help you out.

I am 7 months post-op and lost already 100 pounds. Have the same issues as you. My pcp put me on a contraceptive pill to help regulate. I started since a month , waiting to see but as you said my doc also said it is due to weightloss and will balance after a few months. So i`ll be patient lol. Take care and see your pcp about the best option for you.

I have PCOS and have been on birth control for most of my life to control my periods because I could never have them on my own or I was bleeding for 3+ months at a time. After my surgery and losing 100lbs, I went off all of my medication and I had my first ever period on my own....came and went on it's OWN! And they have been 5 to 7 day cycles (normal!) since then....and I'm almost 3 years post op. I have gained back about 30lbs, but they still continue to be regular. It's only once that it has been late. I wish the best of luck to you!
