Hello, fellow Texan. I had my gastric sleeve on Jan. 22, 2016 so you have passed some milestones that I have not. I hope all is going well with you. Right now, I am in the "feel sorry for myself" stage. I feel beaten and bruised [I did not realize how many colors bruises could be!} and food deprived. I know all of this will pass[ that is what everyone keeps telling me} but some days seem tougher than others. I am not really hungry, I just miss the taste. Liquid diets are not on the top of my list of favorite things to have to do. This Texan is an "old grandma" so I tend to get a bit wordy.....so read my messages when you have plenty of time. I an in southeast Texas, close to Beaumont.....two hours from Houston, five hours from you [depending upon who is driving] HANG IN THERE....if this old grandma can do it, so can you.
I was sleeved on 1/22/16. And I live in southeast Texas, close to Beaumont. Right now, I am a bit envious of you. My sister lives in San Antonio and I am 5-6 hours away from her. I enjoy visiting San Antonio. I hope you like it there. My sister does.
I am having one of those days of wondering if I did the right thing. I have not completely healed yet and I think that has a lot to do with it...plus the clear liquid diet does not help much either...I never knew I would have a love/hate relationship with chicken broth .
Are you at the soft food stage? Have you "experimented" with the use of your blender so you can try different tastes? That is one thing I am looking forward too. What is your weight goal? I think I set mine a little too high....I just thought I would try harder if I did. HANG IN THERE.....
Hey Millie2,
I am scheduled to have mine at S&W on 3/29 with Dr Symmonds.
How are you doing post op? Any words of advice about S&W?
