How long before spasms stop?

Hi all-
Newbie here! Had my sleeve on Monday(6-15-15) and so far everything seems to be progressing normally EXCEPT I have terrible stomach spasms. I had to stay 2 additional nights in the hospital because I could not keep any fluids down. I was really bummed. I am home now trying to push through the spasms. Every time I sip, the stomach spasms and I have to wait a few mins to try again. The same when I eat strained soup or yogurt. I want to drink and eat as I am far from goals in protein and fluids. Just wondering if any one has experienced this and how long it took to go away. I realize I am only post-op day 4, but need to look forward to the days when I don't have this spasms.

I had my surgery on 6/16. I found that taking Gas-X strips every 6 hours cures those spasms and pressure. If you aren't using those I highly suggest it.

Thank you! I have tried them occasionally, but will try them on a more consitant basis. Willing to try anything.

I had my surgery monday also..I found walking and gas x strips helped. Also getting off the pain meds. But this just personally helped me. Don't go off meds if you have pain.

Another vote for GasX & walking. My surgery was yesterday.

I felt like HELL last night but I feel AWESOME today.

Thanks. I haven't had or needed any pain meds since post-op day 1. My pain was never bad, but I hit the button because the nurses recommended it. I was sore and then more sore from dry heaving and vomiting. That was the worst part. I feel a little better this morning and was actually able to put down 2 ounces and one time. Baby steps but that is progress. I will continue the gas x strips every 6 hours in hopes these spasms go away completely. It' s better today and as long as every day I get better, it will be worth it.
