Lap band removal and sleeve on same day

Has anybody had their lap band removed and had their sleeve done at the same time?

I did, had sleeve for 13 yrs, it was disconnected at the port for at least 5 of those years. Dr. Have it to me, still trying to figure out what to do with it.no problems with the surgery.

Thanks everyone! My surgery is on May 18th and I'm having both done. I was banded 5 years ago and 6 months ago the band slipped and wasn't able to be replaced. I'm so excited (and nervous) about getting the sleeve. Are there as many stuck episodes?

I had the band for 5 years but it has been removed for 2 years now. I hated the band. Now I go 6-1 to have the sleeve

I was banded 2 years ago and am looking into a revision to a sleeve. My band slipped in October and I had all the fluid removed. I've gained 25 pounds back. Gradually getting fluid back in but it's difficult to get in for an appointment. I travel regularly for work and have issues with flying longer distances as well. I'm thinking the revision will be much better and permanent without the regurgitation issues when the band decides to tighten on its own.

Has anybody had surgery in TJ, Mexico? Any recommendations for doctors? I'm considering Dr. Quinones or Dr. Almanza. Looking to have surgery at the end of June.

I had lap band revision to sleeve on 4/17/15 with Dr. Almanza in Mexico. My surgery went great and I had my band for 15 years. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me. Carrie

I had my lapband removed and was sleeved on 4-29-15 by dr almanza. I had the lapband for 5 years. Everything had gone well. No problems. Had a little extra pain at old port site after surgery.

Any issues with food getting stuck or are you still on liquids? I have gotten tired of not knowing from one day to the next what sill come back up and what will go down! I work with clients, on their site, most days and running to the bathroom is not very productive in my field. I realize it's going to be a transition but I think if I can rid myself of that pain I will be better off!

How long were you off work? How long until you can go back to normal activities? I love to run and know it will be a few weeks before that's possible.
