Gurgling sounds and increased acid production post-op

I was sleeved four days ago, on April 20th. I am still on a liquid diet per my surgeon's instructions.

Every time I take a sip of water or protein shake, I experience these maddening gurgling sounds that seem to come from my new stomach. Also, I never had any issues with acid overproduction, but now I do.

I am on Omeprazole (Prilosec) and Ranitidine (Zantac), but the gurgling and acid production still continues. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Thanks in advance!

I had both and still have the gurggling noises. My stomach sounds like a dinosour when I eat and it gets really loud with fruit. My co-workers still giggle at me from time to time. I guess it is a small price to pay to become healthy. Congratulations on getting sleeved and I wish you all the best.

The gurgling noises drove me crazy that first week or so but quickly went away. Not that my stomach doesn't still make some funny noises sometimes but nothing like the crazy gurgling I experienced that first week. I knew I wouldn't have been able to live with that for long... it was literally driving me insane!! Hopefully it will work that way for you, too.

I'm also on Prilosec but it seems to be doing it's job like its supposed to and I haven't had any issues with acid, really so can't help you on that one.

I am three years out nearly and I still have the gurgles lol I still get funny looks once in awhile. It's just the food settling I suppose.

not too much gurgling..but the acid was definately a problem..nexium is my friend..that and making sure i dont have anything spicey!! it gets better..

18 days out and I still gurgle sometimes. It's kind of like an exchange. I didn't have acid at first, it came later. I do not have it everyday but when I do, it's mot comfortable. Prilosec takes care of it

My stomach is still noisy sometimes 9 months postop. I had acid issues the first few weeks that went away be came back the last month but its not every day.

Still having problems with noisy gurgles sometimes. The water has stopped gurgling when it goes through, but sometimes food can be quite loud.
Have had my chihuahua look surprised at me, like "why are you growling at me?" It is less for the most part after all this time, but still have days where it is surprisingly loud.
I had reflux & acid problems before, and it hasn't gone away. I used to take protonix but it can increase risk of osteoporosis, so I switched to ranitidine.

My stomach still makes the loud noises but not as often as when I had surgery. I acid problems before surgery and it is about the same this many months post op. I take the prescription Prisolec.

Same here, gurgling noises and I take Prilosec.
