    Default 42 yr/old 300 pounder skin question.

Any 42 year olds that started at 300 pounds out there? How did your skin recover following significant weight loss? I have noticed a major change in my skin the last 5 years and am wondering how successful others with similar situations as mine have done. I know everybody is different, but I just wanted to be specific with the question.

I am 57 and started at 336 lbs. I have lost 67 lbs in 6 months and my skin is sagging. I don't know if that is what you meant. I have been in the gym trying to tone and I have started using coconut oil on my skin as I seem to have more dryer skin than usual.

I dont know from my experience but I know my father went from 350 @ 52 yrs old down to 220 (his was by diet alone) in a year and he has almost no lose skin. I know his diet consisted of only fruits veggies and meats with water and no sugar iced tea but I know it CAN be done. I am 31 and in the last 3 years since my surgery I have seen huge improvements in my skin but I take great care of it too. There are a lot of factors that can play a part in your skin results. Best of luck and I hope you find a better answer than mine

It has a lot to do with genetics. My skin is starting to sag in the arms and belly but not as bad as some people I have seen. If you have developed a lot of stretch marks in your lifetime, that is an indication that your skin may not rebound well.

I was 45 and over 300 when I had the surgery and my skin has done pretty well. I have sagged in my arms, stomach and thighs some but not too bad. My breasts have sagged too and now I look like one of those women in the National Geographic! Luckily, I have been married a long time so he is not surprised by the sagginess when I take off the gravity-defying bra! Lol! I hope this helps.

I am 47 and have lost 115 pounds in the year since my surgery. I have saggy skin, especially the arms but they have always been big. I lost my boobs....lol...but those were always the first to go since I was a yo-yo dieter so no surprise there and my butt is saggy too. I can't afford plastic surgery for awhile so the next best thing I've read on here is support garments. Not the best solution but I'm not complaining either as the surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself. Clothes shopping has taken on new meaning. HELLO Victoria's Secret! Great bra selections that give me that extra 'volume' that enhances what I still have and the feeling of just being happy with myself and more confident than ever is really what it's all about for me. The selection of clothes I have now is just icing on the cake. Of course winning the lottery wouldn't be too bad either.....Getting back yo your question...I have seen alot of people on here who have had surgery after 1yr or more to help where the elasticity never went tight enough. Nice to know that option is out there for those who are interested. Best of luck to you.

My skin was horrible. I had plastics on arm. Tummy. Legs. Plastic surgeon said I have very thick skin and that's why I had minimal elacticity. I also lost fast. Some people just jet lucky. I didn't.
