    Default 9/11 Poem

This is a poem I wrote days after the 9/11 attacks that I thought I would share with you all.

I call it " The Land That We Love"

As I sit here with tear filled eyes,
My emotions are broad and mixed like the skies.

I am filled with disbelief, sadness, and anger,
What I feel can't be measured on any kind of meter.

This is a time to reflect on our life,
Me I think of my family, my kids, my wife.

I think of my father and his traights that I have,
Just to think I havn't called him in a week makes me mad.

What has happened this week will change us all as people and a nation,
But as Americans we will overcome without fear, for it is our salvation.

Yes, they can hit us and make is lose our own people,
But when the smoke clears all it adds up to is nothing but the pureist of evil.

After we wipe the blood, sweat, and tears from our brows,
I guarantee you the American people will all stand united and proud.

In the past we have defeated deceit, corruption and now devastation,
And the only thing they have done is brought us together as a nation.

So take a look at your brother, that does't mean only your blood,
That means all Americans, every state, every state that we love.

Now bow your head, and pray to the lord God above,
For this land is our land, and its the land that we love................

I would like to thank all the men and women that fight for our freedom every day and also give my blessings to all affected from the 9/11 attacks. God bless you all.
    Buddy D.

Absolutely fantastic poem. I was born and raised in NYC, and lost 17 friends ten years ago today. I've spent my morning weeping while watching the memorial, as I hear the names of those whom I knew and loved.

God Bless America and those who were lost too soon.

Buddy, thank you for your inspiring work.
Josh, we mourn with you today.
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.
