Post op day 5

I'm hurting really bad mid left side. Started last night. Is this a gas pocket? I can't get my self out of bed. I have a high Tempurpedic, which is like a slab, when it is cold. I was like a turtle on its back .lol. I finally got up, wonder if I pulled something on my side trying to get up?
I have not pooped should I use suppositories? I know this will pass, but not a good day. I am drinking lots and walking round and round.

I can't address the pain on your left side. I would say call your doctor. Mine was gas and it lasted a couple of days and mostly up in my left shoulder and collarbone. It should go away, keep getting up and walking/sitting upright. I can recommend to have a BM to use a suppository or saline enema. I had an impaction from all the anesthesia and used one 3 days after my surgery. I knew it was likely to happen since I am prone to it. I hope you feel better soon and find a comfy sleep position.

I would use mira lax for the constipation only a half of dose. That is what was recommended to me and it worked before the day was out. Now with the pain, the doctor told me to call if I started having any severe pain. They gave me a nurse that I can call around the clock seven days a week.

The left side pain can be a lot of things. So if it is severe pain call your dr. and see what they say. The stomach is/was on the right side. So the left side pain could just be cramps/gas in your intestines. At two weeks out I still get some cramping/gas in my left side if I drink anything too fast. If I get up and walk around it helps to move things through my system.

Well, I have turned the tide. Finally Pooped !! Hallelujah !! Gas pains resolving in L side and Left shoulder.
I am hungry, ready to eat.
I have my first post op apt on Monday, So hopefully will get the green light to increase diet.

Unlikely that you'll get to eat so soon, you'll probably be just given the green light to drink protein shakes, but my doctor doesn't want me eating until feb 17th after his month check-in.

This first month is gonna be the hardest because you can't eat and you're going to be hungry all the time most likely

My left side is sore, too, but not severely so. I'm wondering if my organs are moving around to new spaces with so much empty room in there now. I had a jar of baby chicken mixed with dill pickle juice and a half tsp of light mayo today.
It was my nutritionist' s suggestion-- no rational person would think of that! I told myself it was pate and found it surprisingly good. Sad, really, as I've always had a sophisticated palate but I guess you can adapt to anything. And it was 7 grams of protein!
