10 months Post Op.....where has the time went?

Congratulations!!!!
I am new here and was just approved by insurance for my sleeve. I was all for it when I had to start on my 6month journey through the insurance maze, and now that its approved, im a liitle scared. I have lost only 18lbs on my own in the 6 month period, so what did I do today???Got depressed from the indicision and ate a whole medium pizza from Dominos. How Stupid!!
Just wanted to ask how your post op recovery went, do you work outside your home and how long did you have to be off work?? Also this is a minor thing but, did you loose a lot of your hair. I had a friend who had it and she has lost almost all her hair on top and it has been 2 yrs and has not grown back. That is a minor thing tho considering if this works the health benefits to it. I am just afraid because it is still a pretty new procedure and there is really no long term data for it.
I would appreciate any input you have. And once again congratulations on your success.

Katie, don't punish yourself bc you got depressed. it's 70 days til your surgery, i would let yourself live it up a lil before the actual date. don't be scared, it's wonderful! the hair thing- i'm worried myself but i keep reading that as long as you keep up with protein intake, we should be fine.

Thanks 4 ur very encouraging post! i just met my surgeon & we'll hopefully set a date as soon as i get my lab results. i'm very excited & although i've been researching about the sleeve for 3 months now, i just can't imagine being 130 or 120 lbs.........the closest i ever got was 147 lbs & that was thru diet pills & crazy soup diets + working out like crazy........not fun, not permanent! ur incredible weight loss journey seems like a dream come true to me i'm so glad i ran into ur post, it's very encouraging & exactly what i needed 2 read now! Congrats, u look awesome!!

Tammy 73-thanks for your wonderful post! You look great. I think all the feelings people have pre-op are normal. I have just set my date, and I am nervous, excited, scared, doubtful, all of the above, none of the above. What has helped me (besides this forum) is I know 2 people that work for the same school district I do and we have been emailing back and forth. I have a list of questions and we are going to meet soon. One of these people has lost 80# since April. So, just talking to him calms my fears and reassures me that "yes" I have made the right decision!

Thank for the motivation. Any wisdom on protein drinks?? Does just plain old Slim Fast work or does it not have enough protein in it??
