Ok. So yes, they again took 9 vials of blood at my 1 year check up. My surgeon is doing a full bariatric work up. He said my elevated liver function test is nothing to worry about. But here's the kicker:
He comes in and doesn't recognize me at first. Then he looks over my vitals and compares them to last year and proceeds to tell me how my results are not typical of sleeve patients. I've lost 40% more weight than "most" sleeve patients in that the usual loss is 60% of the excess weight and I've lost 100%. Wow! That made me feel awesome.
I've never met a goal, much less exceeded it to the point of my results being"atypical".
So, we talked about maintenance and fitness (not that he had much to say about it because I am very active) and he stamped me with SUCCESS and sent me off to live my life now. I see him in a year.
I talked to him about what I've been eating and it turns out I am over reacting. He broke it down for me and I'm not doing nearly as bad as I thought.
so, good stuff! Great visit. I'm pretty sure I surprised him and I could tell he was proud.
And I'm pretty damned proud too. Yay!!
