hey, i'm steve - next monday i'm the first patient at my hospital to get sleeved. First of all, i'm the CEO at the hospital and this is a new service with a very experienced and qualified surgeon - Dr. Eibes from Des Moines. We're starting the service in our brand new hospital and i will be the very first patient. This is a big deal for the hospital but a bigger deal for me. I've always been heavier but was a runner for 15 years and i exercise 3-5 times a week now (cardio and strength) but as i approach 50 the weight just won't come off and i continue down the unhealthy path. So, i will take the big step and move forward in a positive way. Been reading these posts for the last 6 months - happy to participate now.

Hi Steve! What a cool story! No keeping your surgery a secret! The opportunity to do good for your own health, the health of others AND the health and growth of your hospital doesn't come around often. Until today i would have guessed never! You are in a unique position, and I think it's great you are taking full advantage of the opportunity. You will soon be a member of the tiny pouch club! Membership has its advantages...
