So I just joined because I am at the beginning phases of my weight loss journey. I am in Maryland and my insurance requires me to complete their 6 month program before I can schedule my surgery. I joined because I want to learn as much as I can before I have it.

I am super pumped to get started.

Here's my history in a nutshell

2000 I was 310lbs and got diagnosed with a very strange infection in my spine and was put on long term antibiotics (was on it from October til April) and during that time I lost my appetite cause everything tasted bland and as a result I eventually lost 102 lbs.

2001 got married and 2002 my wife and I had our first child. 2004 we had our 2nd.

fast forward to today and I gained close to all of that weight back. Went to the doctor's office and was told I gained 20lbs in the last year and that was probably the reason my my knees hurt so I decided to get the surgery because I can't do it on my own.


So far before I even had my first meeting I was able to get a jump start and lost 9lbs and hopefully by the time this is done I will lose even more weight than I did the first time.

I'm originally from Maryland! Grew up in Bowie, got my undergrad in College Park. But haven't been back since 1993. I'd love to take my family to Icean City, to show them where I vacationed every Summer.
