Hi, I'm from Australia and nervous!

Hey everyone!
I'm from Melbourne, Australia and have finally decided that getting the gastric sleeve is for me.
I met my surgeon last week and he seems great, very straight forward about the risks etc and I have read nothing but good reviews on him :0)
I just got the paperwork for my gastroscopy for next week and I'm really nervous as I have never been admitted/ been a patient in a hospital (I know very very lucky at 30 years of age)
Is anyone else having weird/ anxious emotions pre surgery? I know it seems ridiculous but it's almost a grieving process saying goodbye to that hunk of meat that's lived inside me haha
Ohwell I guess nervousness should be in order as it is a major surgery and it will change my life which is why we're all here I guess :0)
Well I just wanted to say hi- not sure of surgery date yet but I'm sure just like a lot of people on here I will be stalking this forum getting any little bit of information I can, I look forward to sharing my journey with you all

Hi dee, I'm from aus too, I'm heading to mexico for my surgery in august, I'm not nervous I'm very excited and can't wait to get there. You will get some great info from this site, I know I have. Good luck on your journey.

Hi Jen,
the cost basically, is the reason for going to mexico. it's so much cheaper in mexico and the surgeons and facilities are just as good as they are here, and I get a holiday too, lol.

Hi Justine, I am considering going to Mexico to have the gastric sleeve too, I have been researching it for months. The main reason I am going there is my bmi moves between 29 and 30, no matter how many classes i take each week or my strict diet. So I have had enough of the yo yo. I am considering Dr Kelly. I just received the questionnaire and application today, so will start the process tomorrow.

I having dreams and such anixety attacks that I feel like I am going to have a heart attack. I hope after our surgerys we can stay in touch;everyone can use a new friend. i have travel alot but Australia is my 2016 trip. Hope to fine me a nice looking man there. lol
But serious I am having the dreams and nightmares. Very scared of the pain of the surgery not the gas pain. I had the gas pain before on another surgery it is painful bring the Gas X strips but few days before take the pills or the strips early. Hope we stay in touch afterwards, Sandy

Hello Deedee 333..I am Australian too.i am from bunbury But Originally From Seymour An hr Nth Of Melb. Being nervous and having changing emotions is normal. Everyone who has been thru this op,felt scared. I was sleeved May 15 in Bunbury. Before you know it, it will be "in the past". I started at 105 kg and now I am currently 83 kgs. I work fly in fly out and not too far from KARRATHA (WICKHAM). You will be fine,honestly. Good luck ladies.
