Three Week Liquid Diet

Hi I am one week and one day post gastric sleeve, and I am having diffculties with the liquid diet. I am beginning to feel hungry and the liquid diet is not appealling to me at all. The program I am in has us do a three week liquid diet before introducing soft foods, is this what everyone programs like? I beginning to have buyers remorse.

Every dr is different in how fast or slow they reintroduce food. I had a week of liquid, one of pureed which I couldnt tolerate so with drs blessing I did soft foods for two weeks then regular. You dont want to rush things with your new belly.

Is it normal for me to start feeling a little hungry, this early??

I was able to move to cottage cheese, eggs and refried beans the second week after surgery. The first week was broth, jello and water. I can't say that I was hungry but the "food" was definitely not satisfying. That first bite of egg was heaven though. Hang in there.

I am in the same boat. Clear liquids for 3 weeks and I have no idea how I am going to make it. I am already bored with it. Chicken broth doesn't agree with me, so that's out. And yes, I am hungry too.....and I am 5 days post op. I am off all pain meds, though! I'm going to try and get a little creative next week with my soups. My doctor says I can have it if it's strained. So I think I might get some beefy mushroom and strain that and might also try some French onion soup and strain that. I am allowed to have sugar free popsicles, but I am afraid I am falling right back into my carb loving diet when I eat them. I am trying hard to set times to eat at, in hopes of not grazing, but at this time, it's hard!

Ikholcom, my liquid diet is protien drinks (Carnation Instant Breakfast sugar free) We are suppose to get in 60 grams of protein a day. We have 1/2 Cup every two hours, 8 times per day and 6-8 oz of water (or broth, jello, popsiciles) in between . I have lost about 14 lbs since the day before surgery. How are you doing?

I'm drinking isopure which helps gets in my protein but I'm not getting enough. I can't seem to handle more than a couple sips of anything at a time. I still use my medicine cup as my drinking cup! My husband is getting me the carnation stuff when e when he goes to the store. What do you mix it with? milk? I drove to the dollar general store today! I wanted to see if I could. I weighed the day of surgery and am down to 243. I'm walking 3 times a day.

Besure to get the sugar free carnation instant breakfast, and to be quite honest the chocolate is the best one. I mix mine with I cup of 1% fat free milk. At this point it is the only thing I'm eating/ drinking. It's really tough I shouldn't be surprised but I am at how tough it is. Good for you for walking I really have not started to walk daily yet, I had a really bad viral cold with fever that has kept me down. It landed me in the ER for a check because of the high fever, but I'm starting to feel better now. I've been seeing some horror stories about the gastric sleeve which for some reason never saw these before the surgery omg makes me nervous, but also is helping stay on this liquid diet for fear of complications.
