Default My first try at chicken 7 week post op a NO GO

Hi everyone I bought these bacon wrapped chicken fillets at Aldi 24 protein per fillet. I only ate 3 bites before I had to stop, even though I chewed and chewed it still hit my stomach like a rock and I am a bit disappointed because chicken has been my favorite protein before my sleeve and I am running out of ways to make tuna. has this happened to you? will time make it better?

What if you cook it in a crockpot? Crockpots make everything very tender and juicy... I am planning on trying my first piece of chicken next week and I'm going to make it in the crockpot to ensure it goes down OK.

Yes it gets better...just make sure it's moist.
I know everything is better with bacon but that is alot of wasted fat. You could try avocado instead!
You can mix an avocado, greek yogurt, can chicken, egg and make a chicken salad.
I put some Ms. Dash in mine and a splash of mustard....delish!

i started with chicken salad - added a little chicken broth to make it moist and a little light mayo. That made it much easier. then I graduated to a chicken breast, but I can't eat it if it's really dry. It has to be moist. I now cook chicken either in the crockpot with broth / water or marinade. Or I bake it the same way. Or chicken deli meat - that works too

It may not be the chicken that is the issue yet the bacon. After being sleeved my stomach does not like pork at all and also has a hard time with pasta or any sort and beef.

Maybe you did this, but just in case..... I chew and chew and chew but then I cannot swallow all at once or it hits like a rock. So once I have it reeeeaaaaaly chewed up, I swallow bits at a time as I continue to chew. This sounds way easier than it is: It is an art form I have only once vomited and that was lobster and I did not do the above. Good luck!

Here's a few ways I've been able to tolerate chicken (I'm 8 weeks). FYI, I've always used boneless, skinless breast.
    - cooked in crockpot with a can of rotel and tomato sauce and a few spices, cumin, chili powder, shredded then topped with a few black beans, Greek yogurt and avocado (kind of a mexi bowl...delicious)
    - baked with a topping of Greek yogurt and Parmesan cheese
    - cooked in some low sugar marinara, serve on tip of cottage cheese (I also do this with ground turkey)
    - on occasion I've just dipped it in Heinz 57 or a BBQ sauce. It's not ideal but my NUT calls it "food lube" and in a pinch it's acceptable in order to get the protein down.

Thank you all , i will try these ideas, well all except for avocados i really hate them, also some of you mention greek yogurt, is it o.k to heat yogurt? that seems odd to me to cook chicken with yogurt.

I also cook tilapia with that Greek yogurt and Parmesan mix. Or Greek yogurt and ranch mix...mmm. Perfectly okay to heat.
