All these stomach noises....What is my sleeve saying??????

5 days post out and my stomach is making a brunch of crazy noises. It sounds like a brunch of movement, turning, growling and rumbling. I am.just curious as to what is all this activity tgat seems to be gping on in my stomach. Have you experienced this, is this normal, willnit stop?

Hi biggietosmaller,

That's totally normal. Your digestive system may have slowed way down on the preop diet, and certainly stopped completely during and immediately after surgery (thanks, anesthesia and painkillers). It's kicking back into gear now, and takes some time to settle, kind of like a starting a car that's been idle for some time. Mine quieted down somewhere right before the 2-week postop point.

well it finally told me what it was.....I sharted (fritted) on myself. lol I heard this kind of stuff can happen. Then when I noticed, cleaned up and went to the pot, I had a runny stool. I know, TMI!!!!! Like they say Crap (Sh@@) happens!!!!

I've noticed that even now, when I eat too fast, my sleeve will talk to me. It's the strangest feeling, but, I know what it means and I don't fret about it.

I think my stomach quieted down quite a bit after the first 3 weeks. But occasionally it makes some rumbles here and there. Not nearly like in the beginning though!

LOL..... I had the same issue the first few days after the sleeve however, since Thursday the gas has been unleaded! Hang in there this will all be a faint memory!

I am 5 weeks post op and about 15 minutes after eating, I can hear and feel the gurgling. It is actually loud enough that my Lab hears it! For me, it seems to be coming from the beginning of the small intestines. I just take it as a sign that everything is going well and moving along.

One of this forum's veteran members referred to her wookie. The wookie can be very loud!
Mine was extraordinarily noisy for at least 3 months, maybe longer. Intrusive in the conversation at times.
Normal -- and it does get better, but likely to take longer than you want.

I'm laughing at some of these comments and in relief. I was looking to post something similar today. I had nothing happening since the day before surgery and now today I've made up for it. Glad to read this is normal; I already had to call my surgeon once today and didn't want to call again. So thanks for starting this thread bigggietosmaller. It's certainly helped me!

I had the big D yesterday so I eat a few cheese nips last night. I know I should not have eaten anything because I am on clear still but I made sure they were well chewed and pretty much liquid when they went down. Although my stool is still soft it is not the bid D!!!! I choose those because I knew they are slidder food and should get through the sleeve with little to no complications.

Stay away from slider foods and clears mean clears your pouch is not yet ready for solids
