when they pulled out the tube? or drain? maybe I am not using the correct term. i saw a video where the patient is awake and sitting up during this process.
Lol. Not to scare you, but it was my worst thing, hands down of this procedure. I was awake. And sitting. The rn had me look the other way and wiggle my toes. It was the weirdest feeling I've ever had. But it really didn't hurt. It's uncomfortable but only lasts a couple seconds. Good luck!!!
It wasn't all that bad, I thought. Didn't feel great, but nothing to make you yell.
Nothing compared to the sadist / bone head nurse who tried to slowly push an IV up into the veins in both my hands, without popping the needle back down so she was only threading a soft cannula. Now THAT hurt. Blew both tries, I had hematomas on my hands the size of walnuts.
No drainage tube and I did not have to do the swallow anything for X-ray to check for leaks .Doctor some how checked during surgery. I did however have that deep inside stitch near the largest incision. ( little over an inch incision). That stitch could cause an "Ouch!" If I twisted sideways .

No drain, not sure why some use them and some don't. I did have drains with my breast reduction years ago and one breast hurt and the other I felt nothing but it is over quick and once out there is no pain.
