    Default Lap band to sleeve

I had my first lap band surgery 6 years ago. I had a slip about a year later and was given a second bigger one. It really never worked for me. I was throwing up all the time. I lost 45 pounds and gained 35 of them back. I know it is only a tool, but every time I was trying to eat healthy I would get sick, so it was easier to eat some unhealthy food so I would be satisfied. I am hoping to have the band removed and the sleeve done on April 16th, but my Dr. told me if there is too much scar tissue I would have to wait about 8 weeks to have the sleeve surgery to be safe. Here is to hoping that he will be able to do both.

I've heard this story from the few lap band to sleeve people I met during my times in Mexico. With the sleeve, it can be easier to eat the food that's bad for your. Carbs that are easily dissolved (think cake vs bread) can be easier than a lite tuna salad. It's less likely that cake will get stuck, but if you take your time with the tuna salad, you can eat it with little or no discomfort.

I hope the scarring on your stomach is not too bad. I can't imagine having to undergo 2 separate surgeries for this - I hate anaesthesia. Stay strong and I wish you well.
