Default stalled weight loss...I don't understand

I had surgery on 2/5/14. Since surgery I have lost 16 lbs. I cannot understand why the weight is coming off so slowly. I am following my doctor's instructions to the letter. Last week I began incorporating some exercise. Nothing strenuous but enough to raise my heart rate. What is going on??? I lost equally when I was on weight watchers.

I know exactly how you feel because a few weeks ago I posted that my surgery was December 12, 2013 and I was stalled at 31 pounds. Everyone on here was really supportive and encouraging. I got on the scale yesterday and lost one pound in four weeks. I am following doctors orders too but still stalled. But, after reading everyone's comments I have not been so hard on myself. I just realized that my body is still healing and getting used to the new lifestyle. I have learned not to beat myself up, that the weight will come off, some of us just take a little longer. Don't give up, cut yourself a break you are only a few short weeks from surgery. It will happen for you, just stay positive! Good luck!

Welcome!!!! I have found this forum to be very helpful and encouraging. I'm not sure about the stalled weight loss, since I haven't had surgery yet, but from what I have read, just be patient. I know it's easier said than done! hang in there!

Stalls happen to everyone. Search for stalls in the forums and you will find hundreds of posts dealing with them. Stalls are a way for your body to catch up with your weight loss. It may take a few weeks but they do end:-)

    1 month: 25 lost (194-10 day stall)
    3 months: 9 lost (173-halfway to goal!)
    5 months: 7 lost (161-1week stall)
    7 months: 4 lost (152-4 week stall)
    9 months: 1 lost (145-1 month stall)
    10 months: 0 lost (145-2month stall
    14 months: 0 lost (145-7 month stall)

My goal: 145...originally 129 but my body said no!

Been there, done that, trust me IT WILL COME OFF!!!! ...When im feeling hard on myself when doing the
groceries I will pick up 20kg bag of potatoes in the fruit and vege section and that's what ive lost....its a lot of
weight!! Try and think of the positive not the negatives and all in good time you will see results...we all have stalls
just some more than others which is frustrating I know) good luck

The difference between the sleeve and weight watchers isn't that you necessarily expect the weight to come off faster (it was probably fairly comparable for me as well), but that you won't pack all the weight back on again. It's the direction (not the rate) of loss that counts!

Hi, I had my surgery on 9/16/2013 and I lost slowly the first month, then it started to be 5-7 lbs a week after that. I joined a gym in January of this year and continue to lose 2-5 lbs a week, as of this morning 102 lbs lost. I do water aerobics 3 times a week, along with strength training. I eat between 700 & 900 calories a day and always make sure to get in all my protein. My daughter had the surgery 2 weeks before me and lost a lot in the beginning, over 10 lbs every week, but now she is only losing 1-2, she walks for an hour every day. She would probably lose more, but I know some meals she is eating junk food, even a little can make a difference. She is also having issues with hair loss because of her poor choices and not eating enough protein. Hang in there, once you can get your activity up, you will do great. Just look to the future with optimism and things will turn out fine. Best wishes to you.

It will come off as long as you continue to do what you are supposed to do. Keep tracking!
