I was wondering if anyone has experienced the return of the hormone Ghrelin and if so how did it feel? How did you deal with it? I'm just curious. I am blown away by my lack of hunger and interest in food and I hope it lasts.

I feel hungry every day but now i know how to handle it and I dont feel a need to eat and not stop anymore. I find when i get hungry more often i need tto step back and look at things and see what is making me think i am hungry some times its because i havent had enough water. I am 28 months out and i have had this since about 4 months.
Well it depends on the day for me. Somedays I could care less about eating and never get hungry. Other days I do feel hunger but its different now. I can tell when its head hunger or bordem eating. It's weird how our bodies change so much. I tell everyone it seems I had brain surgery because I view things so differently now. I never crave "junk food" like I used to and I never mindlessly eat. Best wishes. BTW I'm almost 7 mths out.

Yesss, I too, feel like I had brain surgery!! It's so weird. Thanks for the replies. I wish everyone luck too.
It depends. PMS--I'm still hungry as a dog. Some days, very little interest in food. Other days, I still get hungry but it certainly isn't as bad as before surgery when I would be hungry and want to scarf down a crapload of food. Now, I want to eat a small amount and I'm good to go. That is the biggest difference for me. I was what you might call the perfect candidate for the sleeve. I would sit and eat a LOT in ONE sitting. The sleeve has pretty much cured me of that issue which was my one biggest issue by a longshot. I also don't have the desire to eat a lot in one sitting even if I could so the compulsion seems to be gone and I think that has to do with the hunger hormones and gut hormone changes.
