If you are considering Dr. Mario Almanza, please read this

I had my surgery jan30. There was a girl there who had her lap band removed and wanted the sleeve. Dr a couldn't do the sleeve because her stomach had to much scar tissue from to much drinking alcohol and that messed with her stomach. If this is the same women she is a hot mess.

Now this could explain the ENTIRE thing....I wonder if this is the same person.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The reason for large incision from port Im sure but the lack of any reply makes me know this is a person with no accountability. Someone told them something if the surgery was not done! Im sorry this happen and I pray for your speedy healing but once you put this kind of negative warning out you need to follow up! Honestly. Not bash the reputation of his practice

I had done some research on Dr almanza and I didn't like some of the things. First the procedure is done in a clinic and a shopping mall they don't have icu so if something goes wrong you will have to be transferred to a hospital . You just see in once or twice he just gives a speech to everyone in a room and they you will see him in surgery and that's it. Just not my type. That's all I had to read to make my mind I didn't want him as my surgeon .

I also did my research and decided to do my procedure with Dr. A anyway. I received care that was just about as good as any I have received in hospitals here; better in fact because there are fewer patients so the response time was better for the nurses. I had no problem seeing Dr. A only once before surgery, and the aftercare staff at the hotel were awesome. The whole purpose here is you have to do what is right for you. Dr. A has done thousands of surgeries and his success rate is just as high as most surgeons in the US.

Everyone is different and he was not right for me. I was leaning towards Dr Quiñones better but seems my medical will approve me here in California .
Anything on the person that posted this? They should be clear on why he didn't perform the surgery.

WTF? This is so sad. I have several reasons why I didn't select this doctor. Yes he has success stories but he is also human. I'm so tired of people dick riding Dr. Almanza. Some people get on here defending him like they are sleeping next to him every night. He is not a god and he makes mistakes as this post implies. Now we don't have all the facts why he chose not to operate but it fuuuuuurther lets me know I made the right choice NOT choosing Dr. Almanza.

To all of you who've had a great experience with this doctor I give my sincerest congrats and warm wishes for continued success. I just hate some of the other posts on this forum who defend Dr. Almanza like they're married to him. That's called Latrophilia. Maybe they're lonely and unwanted. I on the other hand have a husband & kids who show me how much they love me everyday. There are people on here who are either in love with him or are getting paid for referrals/advertising. It's fine to admire and appreciate someone who helped change something you could not, but don't build him a golden calf. Whoever wants to keep dick riding this man feel free. Real talk.

I'm sorry you had that experience. I am 10 days post op from doing surgery there and that is not at all my experience. Yes we didn't get to speak with the surgeon that much before hand but you can talk to the rest of the team. They also give you X-rays to take home of your stomach and leak test results. Melissa one of the coordinators gives out her cell phone that you can text or call with any questions or problems. They do use stitches which is old school when it comes to laproscopic procedures, usually they use steristrips. From the way I feel they def did the procedure and I have the wt loss to prove it. They do preform a lot of procedures in one day but that's how they can make prices so cheap. They use clean/sterile technique and the place is very clean. The hotel you stay at during the healing time is amazing with 24 hr nurse care whenever u need it. I went with a friend who also got it and she's not having any issues. I don't think it's fair for you to completely write off the whole place for one bad experience. I am a nurse and paid close attention to the facility as i was skeptical at first as well. But my experience was do great I had my sister sign up for it and she goes in march.

Starting Monday Almanza is leaving Jerusalem clinic into a women's hospital. Just confirmed it.

Btw I and breast augmentation done in my surgeon's clinic down adjacent to the equivalent of a strip mall-- upscale but still a strip mall near a Target, Logan's, Cato's, and eye doctor.

Starting Monday Almanza is leaving Jerusalem clinic into a women's hospital. Just confirmed it.

Btw I and breast augmentation done in my surgeon's clinic down adjacent to the equivalent of a strip mall-- upscale but still a strip mall near a Target, Logan's, Cato's, and eye doctor.

Did they say why he was leaving?
You see everyone's different I would be scared to do a surgery like that but that's me. We have trouble with surgerys even if where in one of the top dollar ones but with fingers cross nothing bad will happen.
It's just the research I did on him that I didn't like.

when Betancourt(owner of Jerusalem Clinic) died, Almanza became free to practice on his own. Seems possibly some contractual obligation that's now ended.

The hotel looks 100% better and now it's a hospital with ICU so that is a definite plus.

My plastic surgeon came highly recommended. Ended up giving me a massive hematoma and unevenness. Took a year for it to clear up. Even worse, he hit on me, touching inappropriately. Wealthy area in Memphis. I ran for the hills!!!

So sorry it happened to you! Unthinkable of what could of happened!! I went to his clinic and his clinic was well maintained better than hospital i Have been...I was there and have first hand experience I live all the way in Canada and not related to him in any way shape or form... I had an amazing experience and well taken care off...I even went alone and they made me feel like at home....Once again so sad that happened...
