New to this site

Hello all, I'm new to this site as far as being a member, however, I've been reading everyone's post for about 2 weeks now. If I don't change my mind, I'll be having the GS some time in May or the first week of June. The one thing I haven't seen many post on is the scars from surgery. Can anyone, preferably patients of Dr. Jose Rodriguez Villarreal, provide information such as how many scars and if they are large or small? Also, did you receive discharge papers stating the details of your surgery? Thanks!!!

Hello Bozy76 and welcome to the forum. I had my VSG surgery on January 12, 2013 and my scars from my incisions are barely noticeable. I can't give you any information about what your doctor gives you post-op. My surgeon was Dr. Sergio Quinones in Tijuana Mexico and when I was discharged I was given a surgical summary that I gave my PCP back in the states. With Dr. Quinones if you take a 8 gig flash drive with you, Dr. Quinones will give you a video copy of your surgery.

Welcome to the forum, Bozy! I had micro surgery and have four x 1 cm incisions. No drama at all.
I am so glad to read everyone's comment BEFORE AND AFTER I had the surgery, it's nothing like getting information from real people than from medical journal. All the sleevers are so supportive and generous with their advise and sharing their good and bad experiences, I am so greatful and thankful!
You will not regret having the operation, it will change your life forever!

Thanks for that information Stacy. That's great he offers a copy of the video. I actually remember Dr. Quinones being one of the Drs I did research on. Not sure why I didn't go with him but that makes me want to go back and check him out again.
