    Default Rate of weight loss.

    Hi.
I'm a first time poster on this site. I've found this forum very informative. Thank-you!
I am considering a sleeve and am still in the "homework" stage. My BMI is 37 and I have 75 pounds to loss.
Is there a correlation between BMI - weight to be lost and your rate of weight loss?
I understand there are a lot of variables, this is just a general question.
    Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Rate of weight loss.

Well in general, the heavier you are the easier it is to lose fast, but once you get closer to your goal the slower the weight loss will be. For example, a 350 lb woman would need around 3000 calories to maintain her weight, while a 250 lb woman would need about 2300. Assuming after surgery that both woman consume the same amount of calories, the heavier person looses quicker because they have a larger deficit.
