You guys..... I have a problem, I hate the shakes. I mean I'm sure no one loves them, but I just don't like them. Gag me. Thankfully, I don't have a pre-op but I'm scared of what will happen once I'm sleeved. I might be miserable b/c of the shakes....

Have you tried the pumpkin spice at GNC? They are pretty good. I also use IsoPure.

What shakes are you on? I'm drinking the TLS weight loss solution chocolate and vanilla. 2 scoops with 8 oz of skim milk and it tastes like a milk shake. I love them! I hope you can figure out a way to tolerate or even enjoy them!

Got my schedule today...January 23rd with Dr. Iqbal of Memorial Care Center for Obesity, out of Orange Coast Memorial.
Super excited! My husband just got his sleeve on 12/23 and is doing wonderfully! He doesn't hurt at all and can already get down plenty of fluids.
I'm hoping I will be as lucky as he, but I know realistically I won't. I have a horrible pain tolerance, and I am having a lap band to sleeve conversion, which I am told is a bit harder to recover from. It will be nice to have my husband's support as he will be exactly one month ahead of me.

Nervous to tell my work on Monday. High stress job and a non-supportive boss who says her best friend had a gastric bypass but "gained it all back"....gee, thanks Boss! I think she is going to make my life hard in the days coming up to the surgery as punishment for all the work she is going to have to cover for the 4 week recovery period. Not in an obvious way, but in subtle ways that I cannot do anything about, such as being made to cover more night meetings, being given harder assignments, etc. I am just going to have to take it as a personal challenge and persevere...it's a good job with very good pay and my husband just got laid off so I definitely need to make this all work.
Hoping the stress can be managed so that I can effectively lose the weight~~stress really DOES keep the weight on in so many ways!

January 7th here! Just 2 days of clear liquid so I got off easy also. I am a little worried I have gained though because of the holidays even though I have tried to be careful. I'm so glad we all can share and go thru this together. We can do this!!

Keep trying different ones to see if you find one you like, or make your own shakes and the powdered protein. Hope this helps. Congratulations and good luck!
