Anyone got suggestions for protein not involving milk?

I seem to be reacting like a pregnant woman to the surgery at the moment (I'm up to puree stage) and one day I love cottage cheese, the next day I can't stand it. I'm not getting nearly enough protein and I am trying to drink protein shakes but the milky ness is making me gag (I've even tried to scull one in 3 gulps just to get it down and you know what happened next!) Do you guys have any other suggestions? I don't live in America so I can't get protein water, unjury (whatever that is you lucky people!) but I would be willing to buy any solutions off ebay that you know of as I am that desperate - help!

I am liking the Nu-Whey brand, they are fruit flavored and you can add them to water. I do not know if they will ship outside the US though.

You can buy almost anything through amazon.com. Also check out the larger supplement sales websites. I would imagine that the bigger the company, the wider range for shipping. I know there are products out there that are fruit flavored, protein shots. If you're really struggling with nausea, it may be difficult for a while to find things you can tolerate.
Maybe try some scrambled eggs or cheese. I have found some turkey sausage links that I really like. Each one is about the size of a hotdog and it's 10g protein. I cut it up and melt a slice of low fat cheese on top: 16g of protein.
Hang in there. It will get better, I promise.

Are you allowed soft cooked scrambled eggs yet? You shouldn't be that limited if you can have purees. Tuna salad, etc can be pureed. Refried beans are good, I melt some cheese on them or put a little sour cream on to jazz up the taste. If milk products are making you sick, then cheese or sour cream may not be for you.

Thank you for all your ideas - I found an unflavoured protein powder and ordered it today - I only hope it gets to me before I go away on the 3rd. You guys are fantastic and so helpful!

I also can no longer tolerate protein powder in milk. This morning I mixed vanilla flavored protein powder in with some v8 Splash juice and ice. It was much more tolerable.

I really like the Syntrex Nectar products that mix with water. I do their Lemon Iced Tea daily. However, any whey product, this one included may not sit well with the lactose intolerant, (whey=milk product). You can get it in single serve packets on line or at Vitamin Shoppe to test the waters before you invest in a whole can.
