Default is this much pain normal after having the gastric sleeve?

I had the sleeve done six days ago. From what everyone else has told me they didn't experience much pain, just a little soreness. But so far Ive experienced severe discomfort. Even with eating a popsicle hurts. Everything feels as If it's getting stuck and then causes hiccups. My back hurts and I literally can't eat or drink anything without pain. Please can anyone tell me if this is normal? And if so how long before it goes away?

Some discomfort is normal because of swelling. But in your case I would call your surgeon ASAP. Better to be safe then sorry. Good luck

i think you need to call your surgeons office and or return back to hospital that you had procedure!!! have you spoken to your surgoen and if yes, what do they suggest? i don't want to alarm you, but from what i understand the pain level shouldn't at levels be 6 to 10 and it sounds as thought you are at those levels....
