Default So what's in your closet?

Cleaned out my closet, it is now barren. Of the clothes that fit me properly I have 2 pairs of jeans, 2 t-shirts, 2 dress shirts, a pair of shorts and 2 swimming trunks. I'm currently unemployed so no need to rush out and resupply the ward robe, plus with Christmas around the corner it is easy to come up with a list.

    What's in yours?

Not too much either!! I have a couple silk dresses I can't quite bear to part with and need to see if I can alter them. 3 dresses (2 which are church appropriate), 3 silk chiffon skirts (elastic waist w/drawstring), 4 pairs of leggings, 2 pairs of casual skinny jeans, 5 huge sweatshirts (cant bear to get rid of them and I am always freezing), and maybe 6 t-shirts (3 that fit, 3 that are big.) And one nice silk blouse.

And a WHOLE lot of empty hangers!!!

I do have to admit that I have ordered 3 dresses for New Years, and 18 new pairs of undies. ;-)

I have never had so few clothes in my life! Currently unemployed, so not in a big rush to replenish!

I just did my first round of clothes-shedding yesterday. Got rid of an ugly too-large suit and some pants that will never fit me again.

Also, because of my weight loss, I now can wear about 4 pairs of jeans and pants that I haven't been able to wear in a year and a half! It's like my wardrobe just expanded!

Every day a little bit more! Thanks!

I keep on reminding myself that I am less than two weeks out, and I can't help but wish I would lose faster.

Gotta remember that this is going to take months and months.

I kept my old stuff so cleaning my closet out was like a shopping experience where I got excited about a lot of my old clothes that I could finally wear again.

I have 5 prs of jeans, 3 of which are from a thrift store, 2 (new) fleece from Old Navy, 3 sweaters that fit... and a bunch of stuff that looks like I'm playing dress up! I did a mass purge, last spring and took 11 lawn size Hefty bags to Goodwill - all my clothes that I had "outgrown" after my last weight loss/weight found again. I told myself I'd never be a 12 or 14 again so I donated them. I'm in a 16 now. Dang it!

My BFF makes fun of me because I'm still wearing a lot of my too big clothing (I'm cheap!). "What's the matter, don't you have any BIGGER jeans?!" I just don't want to spend a lot of $$ when I'm just passing through these sizes. I totally dress in layers now, too, because I'm cold all the time. Luckily, I can wear jeans and sweatshirts to work, so I've been doing that.

Luckily I have a lot of clothes that I kept from my climb upward on the scale. Unfortunately, most of those are still too small. I have a couple pair of pants I can wear for work and am using borrowed jeans from my mom. I'd hate to go out and buy some just to lose more weight and finally be able to fit in the ones I have from before. My closet is far from bare, it just is full of clothes I can not yet wear again.

I've been taking items to my local consignment shop! The first load brought me $62! Which I turned into 3 new sweaters, a pair of jeans & $20 in my pocket. I love it! It's like trading in the old stuff for new! I even took in my old belts, which I can fasten to their smallest holes and still put my whole body thru them! My last load consisted of old rings too. All too big. Mostly costume jewelry, but definitley stylish. My husband keeps poking fun at me for "getting rid" of so many clothes, but my closet sure doesn't look any emptier I am loving it!

I have 4 pair of jeans that fit and I am still wearing many of my 3xl shirts only because many of them are cotton and have shrunk some. The shirts I can get away with being alittle big but the pants were looking nasty to the point the wife didnt want to go out with me. She insisted on the new pants. I can guarantee that I will get some church clothes for Christmas.

So glad you asked this question. I was wondering at what point do you start to clean out the closet. I know I will not wear the 24s any longer but don't want to jump the gun. I am only days out from my surgery so I know I will not be doing any cleaning any time soon.

Tonight I went through my old crates and found two pairs of jeans a lot of tops. Thank you old, self for keeping the clothes you never thought you'd get back in to. Well, I guess I really hoped I'd get back into them - that's why I kept them for 10+ years.

After this size, though, I'm out of luck. Didn't keep anything smaller than this - it would have been from high school. LOL!
