    Default Pain & Recovery...

I'm starting to stress about the pain after surgery. Since now I'm having my gallbladder removed too, does that make it worse?

I doubt it will make much difference. You will be a little sore, but honestly I have had menstrual cramps that were worse.

My pain was very tolerable and I actually had the bypass. I respect everyone's decision to have the sleeve and don't mention the bypass often. I had anticipated the worse. My best advice is to remember to sip! My chest would hurt so bad if I swallowed more than a sip or real cold liquids. It lasted about a week and now I can drink all I want without any discomfort. Wishing you the best! Please check in and let us know how things go. Good luck as you embark on this new journey!

Ditto what Sherri said. Drink small sips and very slowly otherwise, yikes! Very little pain, more discomfort, but a pillow against the tummy helped and a heating pad - just like treating cramps.

Ditto what Think said. I've had menstrual cramps that were worse. The more you move the better you feel. Walk lots.

I had my gallbladder out as well as a hernia repair and I had pain, but it was very well controlled with medication. Sip, sip and walk, walk, walk. Good luck and keep us posted !

I suggest you read up on not having a gallbladder. You might have to tweak your diet a bit but you should be ok
